Anna-Louise is 4-4 ½ in the pictures. She has an L3 myelo as well as scoliosis.
The chair is a Quickie Kids, 12” wide seat, solid foot plate, low back, and 22” spoked wheels with a 3 degree camber. The back folds down for storage and wheels pop off easily.

Abigail Corl, 2 years old (28 months), Lesion/functional level: T11-L4 She's been using this chair well since she was 17 months old.
Abigail has done wonderfully well with this chair as a beginning wheeler. It was loaned to us by Infant-Child Development (Early Intervention Services) so we didn't do any choosing or comparing. The reverse configuration, wheels, seat & back, foot plate, and armrests have fit her and worked quite well. The chair is a rigid frame and we found it to be pretty heavy to lift. Also in this type of chair, Abigail can't do transfers (with the wheels higher than the seat she can't lift herself over them or use the transfer board), but then she's too young and not yet able to with her lesion level (T11/12- L4). When the arms rests are up she maneuvers herself around, when they are down Abigail knows she is going to be pushed or is to stay. It did not come with any handles in the back, but looks like there is a place for some - that would be nice to have. Overall we've been happy and quite thankful to have this chair for our daughter.
This is Julia Grace using an Etac Sting wheelchair. It has the fender style clothing guards over the wheels and height adjustable push handles. The footplate could be used to aide in transfers or it could be pushed backwards under the chair to get it out of the way for transfers. Susan
Ti Lite YRa
This is Thomas with his newest chair, received in August of 2006. He was five at the time. It is a Ti Lite YRa model. http://www.tilite.com. The wheelchair has a Supracor stimulite honeycomb cushion which is wonderful. This chair weighs approximately 18 pounds.
Quickie Kidz
Thomas's first wheelchair which he received when he was 18 months old. He self propelled this also. This is a Quickie Kidz. This chair weighed approximately 24 pounds. We had the brake extension put on so he could put his own brakes on.
