Paul White, MA, invited to present international seminar on challenging behaviors
![]() Paul White, MS Paul White, director of the Community Ties Program, will present a two-part seminar on “Managing Threatening Confrontations,” sponsored by the Nulsen Haven Association in Australia at the end of February and first week of March. The workshops will feature White’s five-stage framework for assisting frontline staff in the fields of developmental disabilities and mental illness who deal with potentially explosive situations. His seminars emphasize proactive supports and are brought to life by the use of videotaped, real-life enactments of threatening confrontations by professional actors. Community Ties is part of the Waisman Center’s UCEDD or University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. White interacts directly with families, individuals, and care providers, providing case management and community training for individuals who have challenging behaviors.
