About The Research Participation Core
Information for Researchers
The Research Participation Core maintains several research registries and offers a variety of community networking services to help investigators recruit participants for their studies. Our research registries allow us to track an individual’s participation in projects in order to prevent over-utilization of families and to maintain a historical record. Our bi-annual newsletter is distributed to many families in our registries and to professionals and organizations as well. Most editions of the newsletter will include a description of studies currently recruiting participants and/or findings from recently completed projects. The Research Participation Core also offers assessment services and maintains an extensive assessment library to aid researchers in determining participant capabilities. In addition, the Research Participation Core offers consultation services in advanced statistical analysis.
All research projects that request services from the research participation core must be reviewed and approved by the appropriate University of Wisconsin-Madison Institutional Review Board.
