My professional focus at Waisman Center has been on parent and youth leadership, interdisciplinary pre-service training, early intervention and youth transition. I currently co-facilitate parent leadership training for families of children birth to 6 who have disabilities and link families across the state to leadership opportunities. As part of the Waisman Resource Center, I also help expand our work in developing leadership and community-based opportunities for youth with disabilities as they transition to adulthood. As part of the Healthy & Ready to Work initiative funded by Maternal Child Health, I have helped develop resources, trainings and networks of support for youth, families and providers related to transition. I also have as a liaison between Waisman Center and other statewide organizations working on transition. I came to the Waisman Center in the role of parent leader, with a background in writing, editing and marketing. I have two teenaged daughters, one of whom has a developmental disability.
