The following two error messages are displayed when you've entered your password incorrectly into Thunderbird. Your email password is generally the same as your Waisman computer login password, not your NetID password!
Login to server IMAP.Waisman.Wisc.Edu failed.
If you're seeing this error message, you've probably entered your password incorrectly and checked the "Use Password Manager..." box.
You cannot log in to IMAP.Waisman.Wisc.Edu...
You may also see this dialog box. It's a little misleading, you shouldn't try to edit any of your server settings.
In the Password Manager, find your "imap://username@imap.waisman.wisc.edu" entry and click "Remove"
Fix Step 4
Now, quit out of Thunderbird and go back in. You'll see the password dialog box. Make sure you type your password correctly, and hit "OK". If you make a mistake again, to go step 1.
If you would prefer to type your password every time you start Thunderbird, uncheck the box "Use Password Manager to remember this password."
