Hackers have begun setting up bogus wireless access points to collect information such as credit card numbers and passwords. Please never connect to a "Peer-to-Peer", "Computer-to-Computer" or "Ad-hoc" network.

Anytime you connect to an open wireless network, airport network, etc, please run the WiscVPN software. This software is installed on all Waisman imaged laptops, and is also available free from DoIT. While the VPN is connected, your internet access is encrypted. If the VPN cannot connect, please disconnect from the wireless access point. Well-intentioned network administrators would never disable VPN access.
