Meet our Staff

Corey Ray-Subramanian, Ph.D.

Psychologist

Corey joined the Toddler Talk Project in August 2008 and conducts developmental assessments for the study. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, with a specialization in School Psychology, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007. Corey has previously worked in a variety of research and clinical settings and was a faculty member at Northern Illinois University prior to coming to the Waisman Center.

Heidi Sindberg, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Heidi came to the lab from the Dodge County Birth to Three program. Heidi's background includes both clinical and research services. She has worked with diverse populations including children and adolescents who have autism, adolescents who have Down syndrome, and adolescents and adults who have sustained brain injuries. Heidi has a special interest in the area of augmentative and alternative communication (methods for supplementing or replacing speech for individuals who have difficulty communicating with their own voice.)

Courtney Venker, M.A., CCC-SLP

Ph.D. Student
Department of Communicative Disorders

Courtney is a doctoral student in the department of Communicative Disorders. She earned her B.A. in Communication Disorders from Truman State University and her M.A. in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In addition to coursework and research, she performs speech-language evaluations at the clinic with children on the autism spectrum. She is interested in the development of language in children with autism and language delays. 

Meghan E. Matthews, M.S.

Ph.D. Student
Department of Communicative Disorders

Meghan is a doctoral student in the Department of Communicative Disorders. She finished her B.S. at the University of Arizona in 2008. In the same year, Meghan was granted an ASHA SPARC award, which allows her to continue her commitment to research and teaching interests in addition to her clinical training. Meghan is actively pursuing research with Dr. Ellis Weismer and plans to enroll in the Doctoral program at UW-Madison. Language and literacy in autism are her primary areas of interest.

Eileen Haebig, M.S., CF-SLP

Ph.D. Student
Department of Communicative Disorders

Eileen is a doctoral student in the department of Communicative Disorders. She earned her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and her M.S. in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin Madison. In addition to coursework and research, she is the Student Representative of the Wisconsin Speech Language and Hearing Association. Eileen is interested in the development of language in children with autism and language delays.
