Community Networking Services
Consultation about recruitment resources and strategies is available in both the planning phase of research as well as during project implementation.
- The Research Participation Core can assist research teams in recruiting potential participants through outreach to community service agencies, hospitals, schools, clinics, and advocacy/ support groups.
- Education about methods for connecting with families and retention is available. When an investigator identifies a participant and/or family with clinical needs that cannot be addressed in the research context, community referral can also be provided.
- Publicity about a study can be arranged to aid recruitment. Information can be disseminated through various agency and advocacy/support group newsletters or websites. An article summarizing research can be written for the Research Participation Core newsletter, "Research and Resources". Information about paid advertising in local newspapers is also available. Please note that ads are paid for by the project.
- Research Participation Core staff can help research teams design publicity materials, such as flyers, brochures, and posters. Production costs are paid for by the project.
