Nicole Schmidt

Nicci is a Research Program Manager who manages the entire twin research program. She graduated with a BA in psychology and philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1999. She earned her MS in counseling psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004 and completed certification as a lactation counselor in 2007. Nicci has over ten years of experience with the research program. She manages the day-to-day operations, grant renewals, IRB approvals, budgets, hiring, and communication with research collaborators in other departments and universities. Nicci has co-authored 13 manuscripts and conference presentations. She trains students and staff on various aspects of the project, and codes palm print and birth record data. Nicci is a mother of a 4-year-old. Her running resume includes 16 marathons and ultra-marathons. In Nicci's free time, she also enjoys Madison's bikepaths, sea-kayaking, and an occasional weekend retreat to Northern Wisconsin with family.
