“Understanding the Mechanisms of Sensory Hypersensitivity in Fragile X Syndrome: from Molecule to Circuit and Behavior”

February 17, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

About the Speaker: Research in my lab focuses on understanding how neuronal networks are developed and maintained in the brain, with the goal of applying this knowledge to the development of therapeutics for neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases. We utilize new molecular approaches in neuroscience and mouse genetics to conduct research on the molecular basis of neurologic diseases. In particular, we are interested in molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern the synapse formation and plasticity in the brain areas that play a critical role in learning and memory.
