About this Training: Wisconsin’s foster care system supports youth moving into adulthood through the Chafee Foster Care Program, which provides independent living services like life skills coaching, academic support, and career training through regional Transition Resource Agencies (TRAs). Services include Brighter Star funding for educational and vocational costs, support for housing and transportation, and assistance with extended foster care to age 21. The goal is to help youth develop self-sufficiency, permanent connections, and overall success through a youth-driven, youth-centered approach.
About The Series: Transition Talks Tuesdays is a collaborative effort to provide students, families, educators, and community members with important information they need to know before a student turns 18 years old. We will cover a number of major areas that need to be considered. This fall we are inviting in some partners you might not be aware of and asking them “how do you support adolescents moving into adulthood and their families?”
