About the Speaker: David Zopf, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and the Section Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He has also been named the Division of Otolaryngology’s Director of Innovation. In this position, he will help coordinate and oversee divisional innovation research program efforts. Dr. Zopf is initiating a Medical 3D Printing Lab at WIMR and is currently leading 2 major NIH funded initiatives.  One is a clinical trial of a new medical device his team developed to help children with Cerebral Palsy or Trisomy 21 breath better, treat sleep apnea, and, at times, avoid the need for tracheostomy.

Dr. Zopf was an Associate Professor in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan where he practiced for nine years. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Zopf completed his Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Michigan, and his clinical fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology with the Craniofacial Team at the esteemed University of Washington-Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. Zopf is also engaged in global surgical outreach initiatives and serves as faculty for the Global Smile Foundation and Medical Missions for Children.
