Services | Adult Autism Program

Adult Autism Program Overview

Our services are designed to support the social, emotional, developmental, and communication needs of each member.  For example, one of our services includes group meetings.  Some groups are based on age, while others are based on specific content or the shared interests of the participants.  Some groups meet in person, and others via video or both.  Some people are not looking for a group and want individual or family services.  Services are designed to empower adults and their families to set their own goals and make choices toward meeting those goals with facilitator support.

Life Skills Groups

Adults come together in a group to work on various life skills.  Some examples include transportation, cooking, relationships, vocation, daily routine, screen-use, hygiene, dating, intimate relationships, and friendships, to name a few.  Adults in the group work together to pick topics, and each session offers a deep dive into the life skills topic.  The session also includes adults working together to find engagement, connection, and to address challenges they may face in life.  Sessions offer opportunities to explore skills, related myths, to practice new skills, and to receive group member feedback.  Adults and their families inform the topics we cover and the way we cover those topics.

Groups meet weekly for 90 minutes.  If you completed an interest survey, you may be asked to complete a referral form and/or we will call you to ask questions about your needs/interests and start the process of matching group as desired.

Individual/Family services

For people who do not want groups, or who want both group and individual services, individual life skills support is offered. Individual services allow the participant, family, or the participant and family to work together to create goals and address life skills needs.

Family Navigation

Program participants have access to a family navigator who will share community resources and support the utilization of said resources.

Mental Health
