The Waisman Brain Imaging Core is located on the first and second floors of the 2001 addition to the Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. It houses a High-Performance GE MAGNUS 3T scanner for structural and functional brain imaging, a Siemens Biograph Horizon PET/CT and Siemens EXACT HR+ PET scanners for human PET studies, a Concorde Microsystems microPET-P4 system for non-human primate PET studies, a NEC tandem van de Graaff ion beam accelerator and radiochemistry labs for the production of PET radiotracers, an MRI simulator room, an MRI preparation room for pre- and post-scan behavioral measures, image processing areas with extensive computing facilities, a fully-equipped experimental suite for combined behavioral and psychophysiological recordings, conference rooms, and office space.
