Most students come to the Waisman Center for an experience with a particular program or to work with particular faculty or staff members. To help students/trainees learn more about the Waisman Center, its missions, programs and resources and opportunities for students/trainees, a number of orientation opportunities occur throughout each year.
An annual Student/Trainee Orientation is routinely held the last Thursday in August prior to the beginning of each academic year. All Waisman Center students and trainees are encouraged to attend. Check with your supervisor for more information and to register.
Periodically, a “Hail and Farewell” event is held to welcome new members of the Waisman Center community (faculty, staff, students) and recognize the departure of Center personnel. A brief gathering with coffee and bagels is followed by the live presentation of the Waisman Center Overview Powerpoint and a tour of the Center. This is an excellent opportunity for students/trainees who enter throughout the year to learn more about the Waisman Center.
