Geovanna’s work has focused on identifying risk and protective factors that influence positive social-emotional outcomes for school-aged children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). During her graduate training, Geovanna worked closely with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ADHD, to improve social-emotional competencies for these students in school-based settings. Geovanna currently works on research projects aimed at identifying contextual factors within children’s home and school environments that interfere with children’s psychosocial functioning. Her work plans to expand on research examining how family environments negatively or positively impact children’s mental health trajectories in later adolescence.
