The Waisman Center opened its doors on Sunday, April 24, and welcomed friends, donors, faculty and students to the Friends of the Waisman Center’s 21st annual spring benefit concert. With more than 175 people in attendance, the evening was abuzz with music, mingling, delectable hors d’oeuvres and wine.
The event raised more than $22,000 through the generosity of event sponsors UW Health and Unity Health Insurance, as well as 56 platinum, gold, silver and bronze hosts.
This year, the Friends of the Waisman Center’s benefit concert featured Redefined, UW-Madison’s acclaimed, co-ed a cappella group. They gave a lively performance, singing an eclectic mix of songs. A fun element of the evening was their rendition of “Build Me Up Buttercup,” by The Foundations, which had the audience chiming in (click here to watch a snippet of this part of the concert!)
Following the concert, guests moved to the Ziemann Suite to enjoy a reception catered by Chez Vous and wine donated by General Beverage.
