Peter Ferrazzano named Weygandt Professor

Peter FerrazzanoWaisman investigator, Peter Ferrazzano, MD, has been named the first recipient of the Enid and Jerry Weygandt Professorship in Pediatric Critical Care. 

Ferrazzano, a Waisman investigator, leads the UW Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine which provides state-of-the-art care to all critically ill children admitted to American Family Children’s Hospital. The Weygandt Professorship will be front and center in helping to advance the division’s priorities and initiatives in improving care for critically ill children.

The professorship was established by Enid and Jerry Weygandt, a professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin School of Business.

Ferrazzano researches pediatric brain ischemia with an emphasis on overcoming barriers in translating neuroprotective interventions. His lab uses MRI to identify biomarkers of injury and therapeutic effect in the brain.
