ECHO Autism: Addressing Anxiety in Clinical Practice

Target Audience & Focus

This free, virtual series is for mental health providers in Wisconsin who serve children with autism.

Participants will learn and share strategies for evidence-based and best practice intervention for mental health supports for children with autism.

Continuing Education Credits

  • American Medical Association (AMA) PRA Category 1 Credits™ with or without MOC Pt 2
  • American Psychological Association (APA) Continuing Education Credits

Session Topics

  • What does anxiety and autism look like in school-age children and youth?
  • Adaptations of evidence-based anxiety interventions (such as cognitive behavioral therapy) for autism
  • Adaptations of autism therapies (such as visual supports) to address anxiety
  • The benefits and limitations of medications/medication myths
  • Guidance on finding services and providing resources for patients
