Profile

About the Speaker: Jeffrey K. Moore, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He received his PhD from the University of Rochester and completed his postdoctoral training in Cell Biology at Washington University in St. Louis. He serves as the Director of the Graduate Program in Cell Biology, Stem Cells, and Development, as well as co-PI on a NIGMS T32 predoctoral training grant in genetics. His research program is focused on the molecular regeneration of microtubule networks, and how microtubule defects contribute to human disease. His lab has extended its focus to an emerging problem: mutations in tubulin isotypes that are associated with human brain malformations, known as ‘tubulinopathies’. They seek to understand how regulation of tubulin activity normally contributes to neuronal cell biology and brain development, and how tubulin defects disrupt these processes.
