About the Annual Golf Benefit
Each summer, the Friends of the Waisman Center hosts an annual golf benefit. This important fundraiser provides support for a broad range of projects and activities that benefit individuals and families living with developmental disabilities and neurodegenerative diseases.
Please join us as a sponsor of the annual golf benefit! Community partners are integral to our success and have helped the Friends raise close to $680,000 since 1992. Your support makes a direct and immediate impact on the Waisman Center’s mission to advance knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the life course.
Proceeds from the golf benefit have made it possible for the Friends to support many Waisman Center programs and activities such as:
● A major, multi-year project that modernized and enhanced the clinical space at the Waisman Center where each year, thousands of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive clinical services and support.
● Sponsorship of the “Waisman Center Day with the Experts” series, which focuses on a disability such as autism, Down syndrome, and cochlear implants. Each “day” highlights the latest research advances at the Waisman Center and features a panel of experts—individuals with the disability and family members—who share their experiences.
● Support for an international art collection featuring 150 works of art from 20 countries, all by people with developmental disabilities. The collection recently completed a six-month exhibit at the Dane County Regional Airport.
