Waisman Center’s Gamm honored for retinal stem cell research

 

David Gamm, MD, PhD, Waisman Center investigator, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences and Director of the UW-Madison McPherson Eye Research Institute, received the Visionary Award from the Foundation Fighting Blindness at the Dining in the Dark event. The event, held at the Madison Concourse, gave the more than 200 people in attendance an unforgettable experience of eating in complete darkness in order to understand (if only for 30 minutes) what it would be like to live the life of the blind or near-blind. The experience combined with the moving presentation by David Gamm left the audience feeling inspired and motivated to help move research forward.
